Bioanalytical Services

Granlen offers method development for small and large molecules in a wide variety of biomatrices via a structural and systematic approach.  In addition to reference standard characterization we can provide metabolic isolation, identification, and structural elucidation from a variety of matrices.  In-house synthesis of unavailable compounds and putative metabolites can also be performed.  All of our method validation conforms to regulatory or customized client requirements.

Our instrumentation includes:

  • Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometer with near and mid-range capabilities, solutions, alkali halide salt disks, mineral oil dispersions, attenuated total reflectance (ATR) and diffuse reflectance (DR) can be used
  • UV-visible spectrophotometer
  • HPLC with UV-Visible, photo diode array, evaporative light scattering, refractive index and conductivity detectors
  • Gas chromatography with flame-ionization and thermal conductivity detectors (FID and TCD), capable of using packed and capillary columns and head space analysis
  • Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA)
  • Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC)
  • X-ray Powder Diffractometer (XRD)

Other instrumentation includes pH meters with selective electrodes, titrators, a coulometric Karl Fischer titrator, viscometers and a polarimeter.
